This is an honest question: are you anti ALL crafty things on Pinterest or just the clearly awful stuff (like the olive oil jar "picture frame")?
Anti-crafts? Hells to the no! I love crafts. I really do. I don’t really like to call them crafts because it reminds me of Rec Camp (the horrors) but I like handmade stuff. A lot. My mom made most of my clothes growing up. And her wedding dress. And my prom dresses. But, ya know, she had a good bit of talent.
What gets me is the stuff that people make just for the sake of making it themselves. With no purpose, function, or aesthetic quality. And those misspelled, pointless, and otherwise meaningless quotes Photoshopped over random pictures? Child, no.
They are! But… Tumblr only gives you two options: People you follow and/or people following longer than 2 weeks. Since I’m not two weeks old yet and I don’t follow anyone here, they aren’t available yet.
wouldn't it be fun to start a "tumblr does pinterest DIY" contest and everyone craft a different DIY project and blog the process.
YES, yes it would!
There’s apparently this Pinterest Challenge that talented (and probably a bunch of wanna-be-talented) bloggers joined a while back, in which they each pick a Pinterest craft to make/blog the results. I think the least crafty people on Tumblr should embark on this challenge. I would obviously be the mayor of the un-crafty bloggers, because I can fuck up ripping along a perforated edge.
